Distressing I did not answer earlier when you asked for an example of the cord I was dealing with in the cell.

The cell contained data similar this:

HDI1.0

I would like a formula to remove the messages merely keep the decimal and then I would similar the formula to return: 1.0

This stands for a one.0" bore size which is very important that I get 1.0 back to me.

There are few means of extract numbers inside a text string.

The formula my colleage Amit Tandon posted does the job according to your postal service, since yous said

"delete letters and go on numbers"

1-The pattern of your text string

2- The position of the numbers you want to extract

3- Evenmore which numbers you would similar to extract

All this strings lines take messages and numbers to extract, only none have the same design.

Your question might have few approaches to find your solution (or solutions)

Try my Excel add-in "Custom Functions" (nineteen of them).
Information technology includes the 'NumsRight' function that extracts the right almost ready of numbers from a prison cell entry.
It includes decimal points inside the number.
The 'NumsLeft' function extracts the left most set of numbers from a cell entry.

Example of employ: =NumsRight(B5)

Hullo,

I tried the formula =NumsRight(X2) and I received an fault in that jail cell stating "The formula contains unrecognized text". Man I wish information technology would take worked. Nosotros have excel 2022 is that an effect? Z2 beneath is where I entered the =NumsRight(X2) formula.
